This evening, at the 12th annual EMS Awards Ceremony, EMS personnel from across Chester County gathered at the Red Clay Room in Kennett Square to honor over 100 EMS providers, 911 dispatchers and citizens that in one way or another helped save a life in the county.

Several people from the Union Fire Company No. 1 received Clinical Save Commendations. Inside the vehicle was a male patient suffering from cardiac arrest. They immediately began CPR and transport the patient to an area hospital with the assistance of Southern Chester County Medic 94 Paramedic Donald Keith.

With the arrival of the ambulance; Vietta Wood (Career EMS), Blaine Halsey (Career EMS) and Joshua Lowery (Career EMS) took over CPR and care of the patient. Paramedics Alex Christ and Kimberly Harvey from Southern Chester County Medic 94 also assisted and transported the patient to an area hospital.
