Fire Box 2113

At 1010 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1, along with the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun, Maryland (8) and the Robert Fulton Fire Company (89), was alerted for a reported Mobile Home on fire in the 300 block of Park Road in the Freemont Village section of West Nottingham Township. A West Nottingham Township Police Officer arrived within minutes reporting fully involved Mobile Home.

Assistant 21 (Meadowcroft) arrived confirming a working fire in a single-wide Mobile Home. He established the "Park Road Command" and requested the Working Fire Dispatch. This re-alerted the initial companies and added Rescue 27 (Cochranville) and Medic 94 (SCCEMS).

Engine 21-1 (Lieutenant Greene) arrived and beached the front yard. The crew stretched an 1.75" handlines and quickly began attacking the fire and performing a primary search.

Tanker 21 pulled passed the scene and established the Water Supply at Park Road and Lees Bridge Road, supplying Engine 21-1 via a 5" supply line.

Engine 21-2 (Captain Kelley) arrived and staged out of the way. The crew stretched a second 1.75" handline to the rear. Once the bulk of the fire was knocked down, the crew entered the remaining end of the structure to continue the fire attack.

The crew from Engine 813 stretched a third 1.75" handline and assisted with mop up.

Additional arriving Tankers dumped their water into Tanker 21. Additional arriving crews staged in the front yard and assisted with various tasks before being released.

The Chester County and Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshals Offices investigated the incident.

The final units were clear of the scene at 1335 hours.

Lancaster County Engine 52-5 (Christiana) transferred into Station 21 to cover the area.
