Firebox 2113
Early Monday morning at 0439 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for a reported vehicle fire in the unit block of S Quarry Rd in West Nottingham Township. Moments after the initial dispatch, station 21 was re-alerted along with mutual aid units for a mobile home fire.
Deputy 21 (Meadowcroft) arrived on scene and reported fire showing from a single-wide mobile home extending from a vehicle.
Engine 21-1 (Capt. Bennett) responded with a crew of 5 personnel and arrived on scene as the first due engine. The crew deployed 200 feet of 5" supply hose from West Ridge Road into the fire scene. A 1.75” attack line was placed into service to quickly knock the fire. An additional 1.75” attack line was utilized to assist with fire suppression and control of nearby exposures.
Ladder 21 (FF Woolston) arrived on scene as the first due special service; crew members completed primary searches and an overhaul of the immediate fire location.
Squad 21 (LT. Groseclose) arrived and assisted crews with remaining tasks.
Mutual aid units arrived and performed an overhaul of the mobile home to ensure the fire was completely extinguished.
Deputy Chief Meadowcroft held the “South Quarry Road“ command.
No injuries were reported during this incident. |
