At 1540 hrs The Union Fire Company No.1 was alerted for an engine to assist the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun (Cecil Station 8) on a reported garage fire on Love Run Road in the Colora section of Cecil County, Maryland. Chief 8 (Blakeley) arrived on the scene with an attached garage fire extending into a 1-story rancher. Shortly after giving the initial report, Chief 8 requested the 2nd alarm assignment due to the lack of manpower and lack of units responding.
Engine 21-4 (Lt. Testa), Engine 21-2 (Capt. Slauch) and Tanker 21 (FF Scheckner) made the response. Engine 21-4 arrived and conducted a primary search. Tanker 21 hauled 1 load of water from the fill site to the scene. The crew of Engine 21-2, along with the crew of Engine 21-4, assisted with overhaul and fire suppression. All Oxford units were clear at 17:30 hrs.
