Station 22 Box Alarm

On Wednesday afternoon, the West Grove Fire Company was dispatched for an Automatic Fire Alarm at the new Avon Grove High School in Penn Township. While responding, WGFC units were advised of a smoke condition inside the building, with Chief 22 requesting the upgrade to the Building Fire Assignment. With this, units from across Southern Chester County were added.

Engine 22-1 arrived as the First Due Engine, with crews extending a line into the building from the Charlie side as Ladder 22 put their main to the roof. Additional Engine companies took position on the Alpha side.

Engine 21-2 made the response with a crew of 5 and established the initial RIT, before assisting with cleanup.

The result of the smoke condition was an incident in the science wing and the assignment was scaled back to the units on the scene.
