On Friday afternoon, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for an Automatic Fire Alarm at a residence in the 200 Block of Greenhouse Rd in East Nottingham Twp. Engine 21-1 was out on a Fire Prevention detail and made the response from the Bethany Christian School.

On arrival, Engine 21-1's officer (LT Bennett) reported smoke showing and requested the Working Fire Dispatch, which re-alerted Station 21 and added the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun (Cecil Station 8), Lancaster Tanker 89, Medic 94 and Rescue 27 for the RIT.

The crew of Engine 21-1 stretched an 1 3/4 line and began an interior attack. The crew then exited and hit the fire from the porch area on the far side before re-entering to make a push to the seat of the fire. Meanwhile, Engine 21-4 set up to supply Engine 21-1 until the arrival of the incoming tankers.

Ladder 21 arrived as the First Due Truck and backed into the driveway. The crew relieved Engine 1's crew and finished the fire attack and began pulling ceiling while the operator put the main to the roof.

Cecil Station 8 crews arrived and completed a search of the second floor and assisted with overhaul on the first floor.

Past Chief Obenchain held the Command with all units clear of the scene just before 5pm.

Thank you to Lancaster Tanker 45 for covering our district during the incident.
