On the early Morning of Thursday July 6th, Tanker 21(Past Chief S.Terry and Captain Kane) made the 122 mile Journey south to cover The Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department while their members attended the funeral service and procession to honor Firefighter Brice Trossbach of the Patuxent River Naval Air Station and Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department, who perished while battling a residential fire on 5-27-23. Tanker 21, along with Ocean City, Maryland, Rescue 1 and Del Mar DE Engine 74-1 stood by at Mechanicsville Station 2 from 0700-1900. Crews handled a smoke investigation, a fire alarm, and an outside fire, throughout the duration of the standby. The members of The Union Fire Company No.1 are deeply honored to have been asked to participate with many other departments from Maryland, District of Columbia, The U.S. Navy, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Virginia. We extend our deepest sympathies to all of those that were involved and affected by this tragic event.
