Effective Sunday, October 27, at 5:00 p.m., Chester County will enter a mandatory burn ban due to extreme fire risk. This ban, ordered by the Chester County Commissioners, will remain in effect for at least 30 days as dry weather conditions persist. Forecasts indicate no rain in the immediate future, elevating the risk of brush fires that threaten public safety, property, and our region’s extensive agricultural landscape.

Since October 5, Union Firefighters have responded to nine brush fires, with over ten hours spent in active firefighting efforts. With the continued risk, this burn ban is essential to protecting the entire community, including residents, farmers, and businesses.

This complete burn ban prohibits all outdoor burning, including residential, agricultural, and recreational fires, until further notice. The community’s cooperation is crucial to prevent further incidents and safeguard lives, properties, and our natural resources.
