Engine responds to 2 Alarm House Fire in the Kennett Region

On Saturday, November 9th, at 9:15 PM, The Union Fire Company No. 1 responded to assist the Longwood Fire Company on a 2nd alarm house fire with subjects trapped in Pennsbury Township.

First arriving units from Longwood and Kennett reported heavy smoke and fire in a large 2 story dwelling. A trapped occupant was extricated and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Engine 21-1 (Captain Kane) responded with 6 firemen.

Union crews operated on the 2nd floor of the structure for several hours.

Deputy Chief Meadowcroft also responded and assisted with supervisory roles on the fireground.

Engine 21-1 was released by Longwood command around 2 AM and returned to Oxford to clean up.

While Engine 21-1 was at this incident, Additional crews from Station 21 handled 2 sperate incidents in our district.
