Fire Box 0825

At 1121 hours, the Union Fire Company #1 was alerted to assist the Community Fire Company of Rising Sun for a reported house on fire in the 1000 Block of Calvert Road.

Engine 21-2 (Captain McCormick) arrived 3rd due engine, and were directed to complete a primary search and overhaul some extension above the fire floor, while Rising Sun members got a knock on the basement fire in the single story private dwelling.

Engine 21-1 arrived and the crew reported into manpower staging until they went to work overhauling the fire area in the basement level and exterior of the home.

Tanker 21 (Nelson) was staged on the east side of the incident in case additional water was needed.

21 units were clear the fire ground by 1238 hours.

Later on in the afternoon, the Rescue and Ambulance 1 ran a minor crash on South Third Street sending one patient to the local hospital.
