Box 2110

At 1705 hours, in the height of the Ham & Oyster Dinner, the Union Fire Company No. 1, along with Medic 94 (SCCEMS) and Ambulance 22-1 (West Grove), was alerted for a reported Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) with possible entrapment at the intersection of Baltimore Pike and Township Road in the Lincoln University section of Lower Oxford Township. The Chester County Fireboard advised responding units of an overturned pick-up truck with the occupant possibly trapped inside.

Rescue 21 (Lt. Slauch) arrived to find one vehicle off the roadway on its side. After a quick scene size up, it was confirmed that the lone occupant was still inside. The crew stabilized the vehicle, used a "GlasMaster" tool to cut out the windshield and assisted the patient with exiting the vehicle.

Chief 21 (Kelley) arrived and established the "Baltimore Pike Command" and with the report of only one patient, Engine 21-1, Ambulance 22-1 and Medic 94-2 were canceled.

The patient was turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police (Avondale).

The final units were clear of the scene at 1722 hours.

Units: Ambulance 21-3, Rescue 21, Engine 21-1, Chief 21

Mutual Aid: Ambulance 22-1, Medic 94-2, PSPA
