One Trapped in Lower Oxford

Rescue Box 2110

At 1401 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 and Medic 94 (SCCEMS) were alerted for a Motor Vehicle Collision (MVC) with a subject trapped in the 2000 block of Baltimore Pike in Lower Oxford Township.

Ambulance 21-1 arrived and confirmed a two vehicle MVC, with one vehicle blocking the roadway and one vehicle off the road and overturned on it's side. After a quick size-up, one person was confirmed to by trapped in the overturned vehicle.

Rescue 21 (Past Chief R. Terry) arrived. The Crew split to stabilize the overturned vehicle and to set up of the Hurst hydraulic rescue tools.

Assistant 21 (Poole) arrived and established the "Baltimore Pike Command".

Engine 21-1 (Captain Greene) and Utility 21 (FF B. Slauch) arrived and assisted with the extrication.

Crews worked to remove the roof and the gas pedal to free the Patient.

Ambulance 21-1 transported the extricated Patient, with Medic 94-1, to the Christiana Hospital.

Ambulance 21-3 transported the Patient from the other vehicle to the Jennersville Hospital.

The final units were clear of the incident at 1645 hours.

Units: Ambulance 21-1, Ambulance 21-3, Assistant 21, Engine 21-1, Rescue 21, Utility 21, and the Fire Police

I want to say i'm Happy to see some people can still do good things around here me and my wife were on the way home to Oxford from Kennett Square Today and we came across a Car Accident Involving 2 Cars on Old Baltimore Pike by the Tastykake Plant and one went over a embankment i right away parked my car and ran down the embankment to help the other man who come to find out was Kevin Boddy from Oxford and we were pushing against the car so it would not roll over and her arm was under the door frame and she got it out as we were there we tried in every way to make her comfortable till the Oxford fire co Members and Medic's got there and did this i was a Member of the Kennett Fire Co for 34 years and stopped Running calls in 2012 after Moving to Avondale and with all My Health Problem Open Heart,Pacemaker,COPD,and the list goes on i Didn't hesitate to help a Person in need I'm Just Praying the the person's in the cars are ok and the women in the car that went down the hill is ok and doing well
