Shortly after noon, the Union Fire Company No. 1, Cecil County Station 8, Lancaster Tanker 89 and Rescue 27 for the RIT were alerted to the unit block of Park Rd. in West Nottingham Twp for the House Fire. Initial reports were that the house was filling with smoke.
Chief 21 arrived and found a smoke condition in the first floor and established the Park Rd Command.
Engine 21-4 arrived and laid a supply line in the driveway. The crew then stretched a handline and made access to the home, finding a small fire just inside the door.
Engine 21-1 arrived and picked up the supply line, with their crew making entry to the basement of the structure, where they worked on the burned areas in the ceiling.
Ladder 21 took the first due truck assignment and put the aerial up in case it was needed. The crew also threw ground ladders and later used a saw to open up the floor.
Additional units staged and sent their crews up to the scene.
The fire was quickly placed under control as firefighters worked to remove the remaining smoke from the structure.
All units were clear in just over an hour
