It has been a busy week for members of Union Fire Company No. 1. At 9:28 On Monday 5/23 Union Fire Company was alerted to assist Singerly Fire Company with a barn fire on Union Church Road in Elkton.
Tanker 21 and Engine 21-2 made the response with a crew of 5. Tanker 21 arrived and assisted in stabilizing the water supply situation at the fire scene. Engine 21-2 was originally directed to the scene, but on arrival were asked to secure a secondary water source. Within minutes, the crew drafted from the the dry hydrant of a pond on Telegraph Road and set up to supply tankers.
Union members were on scene for approximately 2 hours.
