Box 2107
On Monday evening, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted for a Trash Fire at a Commercial Property in the 2300 Block of Baltimore Pike in East Nottingham Township.
As Engine 21-1 went responding, the Chester County Fire Board advised that the assignment was being upgraded, adding Cecil Station 8, Station 22 and Rescue 27 for the RIT.
Engine 21-1 went on arrival with smoke showing from the side of the building and took the First Due Engine assignment. A supply line was laid from a hydrant on Baltimore Pike that was picked up by Engine 21-4 as the Second Due Engine. Initial crews pulled a 200 foot attack line and a 300 foot line to extinguish the fire.
Ladder 21 arrived as the First Due Truck and put the main to the roof. Crews later performed ventilation tasks to remove the smoke from the building.
Additional arriving units assisted with ventilation and overhaul before going available shortly after 9pm.
Station 21 Fire Police closed Baltimore Pike in the area of the Fire Scene to ensure the safety of all First Responders.
Deputy 21 held the Baltimore Pike Command. |
