On the morning of 4/21 at 04:24 Union Fire Company No.1 was alerted to assist Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company of Port Deposit with a 2- Alarm Building Fire in the 100 Block of Jacob Tome Highway.
Engine 21-2 (Captain Bennett) responded with a crew of four. Upon arrival, operations had turned defensive and the Engine 21-2 crew was assigned to operate on the C side of the structure. The crew extinguished visible fire on the roofline and on the first and second floor of the structure. Engine 21-2 remained on scene for just over three and a half hours.
Shortly after Engine 21-2 made the response, Command requested a Tanker Task force. Tanker 21 (Chief Booth) made the response. Upon arrival Tanker 21 worked with water supply to maintain a steady supply to the incident scene.
Ladder 21 (Safety Officer Stewart) was also able to respond with a crew and once on scene the ladder crew joined the crew from Engine 21-2 on the C side.
Tanker 21 and Ladder 21 were released approximately an hour and a half after arrival, and returned to our local district without incident.
