We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Past President and Past Fire Chief Lonnie Brown of the Union Fire Company No. 1. Chief Brown joined our ranks in 1956 and dedicated himself to serving the Oxford Community for many decades, alongside many family members who followed in his footsteps.
Chief Brown held the position of Fire Chief from 1970 to 1973 and later served as President in 1997 and 1998. His leadership and commitment to our mission were truly inspiring.
A respected County and State Fire Instructor, Lonnie was passionate about pump operations and water supply education. His contributions to the field were recognized when he was honored with the title of Instructor Emeritus by the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy.
Chief Brown's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Services for Chief Brown will be private, with family expecting to hold a celebration of life at a later date. |
