Firebox 2111

Just after 1530 hours, The Union Fire Company No. 1 along with automatic mutual aid, were alerted to Fieldstone Drive in Lower Oxford Township for a reported house fire.

Engine 21-1 (Captain Kane) Responded with 4 personnel shortly after dispatch.
Engine 21-1 arrived on-site, reporting a 2 story, single family dwelling, with smoke issuing from the eves of the structure. A five inch supply hose was deployed from the end of the steep driveway. Crews deployed a 200', 1.75" attack hose through the front door, where fire was found, and quickly extinguished, in the ceiling of the bathroom.

Engine 21-4 (LT. Testa) arrived as the 2nd due engine and deployed additional five inch hose, utilizing a "Split lay" method from the end of 21-1's hose, to the hydrant.

Ladder 21 (Hoseman Holmes) arrived and set the main aerial ladder device to the roof, while the crew began working on opening up the ceiling and wall to check for additional fire.

Additional units arrived on-site and assisted with ventilation of the structure.

Quick efforts of the first arriving crew kept the fire in the area of origin.

No injuries were reported at this incident. Assistant Chief Kelley held the "Fieldstone Drive Command".

Thank you to Cochranville Fire Company Engine 27-2, for standing by at our firehouse to cover the district.
