Firebox 2113

Just prior to 2130 hours, the Union Fire Company No. 1 was alerted to the 200 block of Lees Bridge Road in West Nottingham Township for a reported barn fire.

Engine 21-1 (Captain Kane) responded with 6 personnel. Engine 21-1 received supplemental information from the Chester County 911 Center that a 20-foot x 30-foot barn was on fire.

Engine 21-1 arrived on-site and deployed 1300 feet of five-inch supply line from the end of the driveway to the location of the fire.
First arriving crews were met with well-advanced fire throughout the originally reported shed and adjacent haybales, as well as multiple trees and a mobile home that had become involved.

Engine 21-1's crew members deployed two 1.75" fire attack hoses initially, being assisted by Engine 8 (Rising Sun) and Ladder 21 (FF Woolston), who deployed 2 additional fire attack hoses.

Due to no fire hydrants in the area, 3 additional tankers were requested to respond to the scene. Tankers were filled on East Christine Road in front of the Wawa by Engine 812 (Rising Sun).

Additional mutual aid units arrived and performed extensive overhaul of the mobile home to ensure the fire was completely extinguished, while Ladder 21 utilized the aerial master stream device to fully extinguish the burning haybales.

The fire was placed under control at 2229 hours.

Fire Chief Booth held the "Lees Bridge Command.".
No injuries were reported during this incident. Union units cleared the scene by approximately 0045 hours.
