Union No. 1 firefighters along with crews from West Grove (22), Cochranville (27), Quarryville (57), and Rising Sun (8) were alerted for the house on fire in the 500 block of Cullen Road in Lower Oxford Township just past 4pm today. Chief 21 arrived to find the two story home with a large volume of fire involving an attached garage extending into the home. Engine 21-1 arrived, laid a supply line, and began an offensive fire attack. With no hydrants nearby, a tanker task force was requested bringing tankers from Bart (51), Christiana (52), Quarryville (57), and Avondale (23). A total of 3 hand lines were stretched and the fire was out out in short manner. One firefighter was transported to a local hospital for a checkup. He was released a short while later.
Engine companies from Honeybrook (33) and White Horse (49) for filling in at the Midtown Fire Station for several hours.
